Eurostar – 2012-13 winter season

Summer in European countries is nearly over, the holidays were great, the tan perfect and the mood relaxed! Getting back to work is always somehow painful after great holidays. However getting back to work means that the next holiday season is nearing. Indeed winter holidays in Europe are approaching!

Eurostar, the high speed train linking the UK to continental Europe, has once again its 2012-2013 ski service. That’s great news! Because as from the end of July, Eurostar tickets are available for travel starting on the 21st of December for the night service. The Eurostar day service starts the next day, on the 22nd of December.

Travellers planning to visiting London during December can take the direct Eurostar trains from London St Pancras International Station or Ashford International to the French Alps. The ski trains invites travellers from London to ride on board the Eurostar at a maximum speed of 300 km/h to the very heart of the French Alps.

Travelling on board the Eurostar is always a pleasure. Travellers can choose from different class of service available on board the Eurostar – The Standard Premier and Standard class. Those looking for comfort and relaxation can choose the Standard Premier where they will be served, at their comfortable seat, food and drink.

The Eurostar ski service will run from the 21st December to 13th April and the train timetable from London St Pancras International/Ashford to the French Alps is as follows:

Those choosing to take the night train can depart from St Pancras International or Ashford International on the Fridays. The Eurostar train will arrive at Moûtiers in the morning, then head to Aime-la-Plagne and Bourg-St-Maurice.

Travellers can also take the Eurostar day train on the Saturdays and depart from St Pancras International or Ashford International. The train will arrive at Moûtiers first, in the afternoon, then Aime-la-Plagne and Bourg-St-Maurice.

Several French Ski resorts can be reached from thereon: Courchevel, Les Arcs, Val d’Isère, Val Thorens and Tignes.

To avoid any delays, Eurostar travellers are advised that is important to arrive at the stations more than 1 hour before departure, especially when returning from the Alps stations.
