England 05/05/2012 – William A Lewis, Shropshire

The William A Lewis, Shropshire car franchise is almost a local institution. They are an example of how basing your company around offering the best service possible brings success.

The founder of this Shropshire-based car dealership company, William ‘Bill’ Lewis, began working in the motor industry aged 21. In 1945, he set up his own body shop. His business quickly grew and he quickly got a reputation for high-quality workmanship. When in 1956 he decided to begin selling cars to the public his new business was an almost instant success. Clients who had previously had their vehicles repaired by him trusted him and bought their new cars from him.

Gradually, over the years the company grew. In 1965, they establish the first Volvo dealership in the UK and later open branches that sold Nissans, Toyotas, MGs and Renaults. However, the company did not forget its beginnings and kept the body shop open. Over time, they added additional maintenance services to their offering. Now they also offer MOT’s and a full tyre service as well as dealership standard servicing and repairs.

In the area, they are well known for being a Motability dealer. In fact they are a Premier Partner and are one of the most respected dealers in this specialist area. Once again, they go the extra mile and have a dedicated team who are extremely experienced in finding the right vehicle for their disabled customers.

For example, they are members of the Retail Motor Industry Federation and the Trust My Garage scheme.
