Chichester, UK (4th July, 2012) – ANS Group, leading designers of indoor and outdoor living walls, have recently completed work on the new M&S Eco Store at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet Village, near Ellesmere Port.
ANS Group provided six living walls for the new eco store, which are some of the largest and most varied of M&S’s walls yet, incorporating thirty types of plants and flowers (with many native species reflecting plants found in the local area). As the walls are irrigated from a rainwater harvesting system, they will provide a habitat for local bio-diversity; species were chosen carefully to benefit as much wildlife as possible, ensuring birds, bees, insects and butterflies are comfortable with the new walls.
The group had previously carried out two other jobs for M&S – at their Sheffield and Norwich branches – before receiving a tender package for the new eco store. The living walls have been placed at high-visibility areas, with one at the vehicle entrance to the multi-storey car park, and another at the pedestrian entrance. Each wall incorporates the M&S branding design, and offers air purification as well as insulation against noise and heat.
