Preston, United Kingdom (15th August, 2012) – PHC Law, specialist personal injury solicitors who take cases on a no win no fee basis, have successfully recovered £6,250 compensation for a work accident victim who suffered a shoulder injury in July 2010.
The victim worked in a factory manufacturing industrial sized sheets of glass. In the course of his employment, the Claimant and a colleague was required to lift and move the large heavy sheets of glass. The Claimant was injured as a consequence.
The gentlemen called upon PHC Law personal injury solicitors and his claim was handled by a senior consultant solicitor of the firm, Mr John Cooper.
Mr Cooper commented: “By law, all employers have a duty of care to provide and maintain a safe working environment. In this case, my client needed extra support to carry the heavy sheets of glass, and if this had been provided, the accident could have been prevented.
“I am pleased to say that my client has made a full recovery, but unfortunately accidents can happen; many of which can be prevented if the correct safety measures, safety wear or equipment have been enforced. The Defendants denied liability, and a senior consultant solicitor who dealt with the case extracted information held by the Defendants which confirmed the dimensions and weight of the lift concerned.
In spite of the fact that the lift weight was excessive, the Defendants continued to deny liability.
Following persistent enquiries by the Claimant’s solicitor, Mr Cooper and further to the medical evidence obtained from a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, the settlement was eventually agreed at £6,250. The client received 100% of the compensation in full without any deductions.
