As the result of a new partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Montegrappa has created limited edition fountain pens and roller ball pens inspired by the iconic DC Comics character, Batman. 1939 editions of each pen will be produced, in honor of the year the character made his first appearance; each pen’s components are constructed from aluminum with a black anodized finish, while the clip is constructed from ruthenium-plated brass. These materials were chosen to reflect the dark grey shade of Batman’s original costume, while the pens’ surfaces feature engravings of bats in flight – a key visual motif long associated with the character. The fountain pen is also tipped with an 18k gold nib, featuring the distinctive Batman logo.
