Basingstoke, United Kingdom (22 June, 2011) – Chic Teak, a leading supplier of outdoor garden furniture, have imported a carved tree sculpture made entirely from teak into the UK.

One of Chic Teak’s partners was recently on the Indonesian island Java – a location renowned for being particularly populous with teak trees – visiting the teak furniture company’s suppliers and looking for potential new product lines. Whilst on the island, the partner noticed an impressive teak tree root carving of a large leaf.

Measuring 2.5m in height and width and weighing 350kg, the sculpture is currently being shipped over to Chic Teak’s headquarters. Chic Teak has also revealed that they have found some other opportunities for new teak furniture lines in Java, which they are currently investigating and will update customers on in due course.

“It is essential that we visit our suppliers on a regular basis to ensure that communication is good and everyone is singing from the same song sheet,” commented Sarah Bowden of Chic Teak. “We are constantly striving to improve the quality of our products, and it is only by talking directly with suppliers while looking at potential new furniture products that this can be achieved.

“We have imported a truly magnificent piece of natural art made of teak from Java, and invite interested customers to come and view this unique artwork and peruse our range of teak garden furniture.”
