Birmingham, United Kingdom (09 June, 2011) – Green Room Retail, leading expert providers of retail solutions including retail design, point-of-purchase, shop-in-shop and flagship store design, was recently called upon by Umbro to design, develop and install a sales area for the new Umbro Modern England collection within Manchester’s Harvey Nichols store.
Available exclusively from Harvey Nichols, the Modern England collection is designed by Peter Saville, the legendary designer behind the New Fabric of England pattern featured on the latest England football kit.
In addition to creating an appealing sales area within Harvey Nichols, Green Room was also set the task of creating the backdrop for the VIP launch event where Peter Saville introduced the collection to a specially invited audience that included Manchester City and England goalkeeper Joe Hart.
“The challenge for the creative team was to ensure Saville’s repetitive St George’s Cross pattern was celebrated without overkill,” commented Richard Ash, Green Room Retail’s Chief Executive.
“This was achieved by using the design in different sizes and on different materials, including canvas, glass and vinyl, to bring more versatility to the display. The finished display managed to stay true to Peter Saville’s signature St George’s Cross pattern whilst remaining subtle, and was a great success for the launch and Green Room alike.”
