Garage Storage Just Got Interesting

England 12/04/2012 – Garage storage is something very few people spend much money on but now that appears to be changing

Garage storage is not exactly an interesting subject to most people. The vast majority of UK homeowners use their garages simply as somewhere to keep their car and as a dumping ground for the kids bikes. A few people also use the garage to store things like sporting equipment, large home appliances and DIY equipment when they are not in use.

However, some homeowners do make full use of their garage space. Whilst, they primarily store their car in the garage they also use it as a workspace. Generally speaking, these people spend a bit of time organising their garage and installing proper storage facilities. They know that storing their tools in a customised tool cabinet means that they can find exactly what they need when they need it. In addition, their tools are protected from damage.

However, more and more homeowners are getting fed up with their cluttered garage and are looking for ways to improve them. As a result, they are buying specialist garage storage units and having them installed.

Types of garage storage

There are two main kinds of garage storage available. The first kind is designed for the home market alone and is made out of heavy-duty plastic. However, unfortunately those that have brought this kind of storage quickly discover does not last long because it tends to bow and buckle under the pressure. As a result, more and more homeowners are buying the other kind of garage storage that professional garages use. The cabinets professional garages use are made from metal. They can withstand day-to-day usage and store heavy and bulky objects.

For decades, Dura Garages have sold garage storage systems to professional garages. However, a few years ago they branched out and began supplying private homeowners with their cabinets. At first business was slow, however in recent years this has changed. More and more UK homeowners are seeing the benefit of getting their garages kitted out in the same way that the professionals do. This is a trend that Dura Garages expect to continue.
